Stratford, host in Summer 2012 to the London Olympic and Paralympic Games has a wealth of attractions, places to stay, eat and drink and is an ideal base for visitors who are keen to experience London's 'trendy east side'.
Westfield Stratford City opend its doors in latre 2011 - Europe's largest retail centre, anchored by John Lewis and Marks and Spencer, in a striking three-level, curved mall. In Stratford town centre and the Stratford Centre mall, a wide choice of easy to reach shops, market stalls, bars and cafes offer an eclectic mix of goods and services at excellent value for money.
After a hard day's shopping, you can relax in the arthouse Picturehouse cinema, shoot some bowls at the 14 lane All Star Lanes bowling alley, play the tables in the 24 hour Aspers Casino, or take in a dance performance or a play at the contemporary arts venue Stratford Circus, or a show at the historic Theatre Royal.
And of course Stratford is home to the biggest regeneration project in Europe, with thousands of jobs and homes to come in the next few years, as well as the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, which will begin to open in Summer 2014.
